I've been in a bit of a sewing rut, so I went to Joann's and got myself some cheap cotton fabric in a bright rainbow galaxy print, and I've been making a dress to wear around the house. Trying to get some momentum back, and make something where I don't have to worry about anything looking perfect.
I made a Japanese Knot Bag to go with my outfit as a wedding guest this weekend! I was living my Sound of Music fantasy and ripped up some curtains to do it to lol. It was the perfect size to fit all my necessities without taking up too much arm space. The project itself was fairly easy, but I had a lot of trouble sewing the smaller hole. Still, would def recommend!
Just got my first sewing machine this weekend. I know common advice is not to start with jersey, but I do have the audacity, so I decide to hem up a pair of lounge-around-the-house shorts that were hitting below my knees. They ended up slightly shorter than I planned--lesson learned, and who doesn't love some hoochie shorts anyway? Seeing some quick results and learning a stretch stitch early was really motivating. Next up--making a pair of basic shorts from a thrifted bedsheet.
Yesterday I finished a tank-top made from a light pink cotton. Was my first time making my own bias tape! Proud of how it turned out, with a button and loop connecting the back neckline. I forgot to consider my massive bust (thought if I made it a larger size than my reg it would be fine—was not) so will do an FBA for the next one and give this one to a friend.
I'm almost finished with a satin pajama set! Just have to remake the straps for the top cause the bias tape stretched too much. Then I'll make something with fabric scraps 🥰
Just dive in! Starting is the hardest part for me every time, like working with a blank canvas. Sometimes I just start hemming a side or draping it around my body or a throw pillow to get some inspiration.
I've been chipping away at my mend/repurpose pile! I cropped a sweatshirt and used the ribbed fabric from it to make a super cropped shirt into a less cropped shirt. Turned some too big flowy pants into joggers with a side split and can't wait to wear them this summer! And finally got around to mending small holes, adjusting straps, and hemming some pants.
I'm finally getting me and my partner's body blocks set up! I had a tough time making some simple-ish clothes earlier this year as my first sewing projects and want to rethink how I look at patterns and how they'll work for me.
I thrifted a large towel, I'm going to make smaller kitchen towels from it. My sewing projects are kind of on hiatus, mainly the kigurumi because I'm struggling with making a hood for it. The early medieval linen dress is waiting too, I have a prototype made with an old bedsheet, linen is too expensive for me for now.
I got fancy, 3d embroidered fabric for a shirt (just a short sleeve button down)I wanted to make for the Eras Tour in a few weeks, but now that I have my mockup mostly done, i’m in project paralysis 😩 i’m so scared of ruining the fabric and idk if it’ll work/how i want the embroidery/IF embroidered tulle will ever work 🤡🤧
I’m currently on the hunt for a nice linen to make another All Well box top. Such a simple fun pattern. Might hack it and turn this next one into a high-low top
I have a pair of pants that have always been big so I never wear them, but I love the green and blue houndstooth pattern. I think I’m going to turn them into shorts! I’m new to sewing so fingers crossed!
I’m currently working on a paper piece quilt.
I am working on making some DND Dice bags, just for fun to work on sewing with circles and bag dividers.
Awesome!

Nothing I ever make is perfect haha. You got this!
I'm working on cutting up my grandma's old clothes to make a quilt!
Oh I bet that will be pretty!
I hope so!! She was a fan of very exciting patterns, so I think that will lend well to a fun patchwork quilt!

So fun! I would have told everyone at the wedding about it haha
Oh I definitely did lol. There was a constant flow of "what did you guys do last night? oh cool! Me? Oh no big deal, I just MADE THIS BAG"

I keep telling my boyfriend that I am going to make him a tank top. Has that happened yet? No lol
I was surprised how easy it was! You got this Tanner! I hope you make one soon—would love to see it on TT when you do <3

I need to made pajamas! That sounds awesome ❤️
Definitely!! It was actually the first clothing I made, it's very easy. As long as you don't use satin lol
I’ve been trying to recreate some pieces from Daisy Jones and the six. Specifically the denim top and leather top
I have amassed quite a collection of thrifted fabric but have been too scared to make anything 😂

I’m working on a sample for a handkerchief shirt using vintage handkerchiefs

Was commissioned to make a dark Rey costume for the 501st legion charity project !

Go for it! The payoff at the eras tour will be worth it!
I am working on a row a month quilt and trying to work up the courage to try my first piece of clothing.

I'm working on turning some sweats and linen pants into shorts since it's getting hotter out!
I love a good toss and go dress I can dance in, so I'm working on a slip dress in this gorgeous chocolate brown fabric
