Hello there! I am gathering sewing questions for a new video series (and zine) this week. If you have anything you want answered, please ask away! Looking for questions big and small, funny and serious. Thank you!
Do you have a cheat sheet of stitch length / tension / thread type for different fabrics? I feel like I'm always wondering what the "default" settings are for each fabric and I don't know what to trust online. (Like is there a default for stretch that's distinctly different than something like a linen?)
Hi! I want to take my sewing machine on a cross country airplane trip (to teach my niece to sew) Good idea? Bad idea? Can you recommend a carry-on bag for the machine? Bernina wants $469 for a rolling trolley case! Eeek
How do I make a simple tee into a swing tee? I want to upcycle my scraps, but I don't know how to cut apart a tee and sew in panels. How do I measure what extra I need to add? How do I sew tee shirt material that keeps rolling up?
How many feet do I really need on a regular machine? I got an overlock foot but haven't worked up the courage to change it out and try it yet. Seems so scary to change them in and out. Yikes!
I've recently lost some weight, and instead of spending a bunch of money on new clothes I wanted to try my hand at altering some of my current clothes. I'm pretty familiar with BASIC sewing skills, but I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on the kinds of seams you find on jeans? Thanks for your content!
Is it possible to add a zipper to an existing garment? For example: I have a couple of jumpsuits that are difficult to wiggle into but fit once they’re on so I’m thinking I could cut down the side where there’s a seam and add a zipper?
I would like to know the best way to change a pattern I already have for different seam finishing styles. I've read a lot about better ways to finish seams, but I know I'd probably have to add some amount to the seam allowance and maybe there other issues I haven't thought of?

YASSS! This!!! Always wondering how and when and why to adjust this! But too scared to do so!
Could you go over all the ways to finish edges? While hemming, making simple projects like tote bags, and with sheer fabrics

How do you position butt pockets on jeans to make your butt look more round and less like a pancake?
Pins, pinning vertically or horizontally, little clothespin clips? What else is there, what do I use? What do I do?

Could you please simplify/demonstrate the French seam process and how it applies to cloth as a method to hide the stitch?
