Next week, I will record the first episode of my new podcast, Upcycle Lab. This podcast is the culmination of many months of planning and dreaming about 2025. I am so excited for you to listen to this video podcast centered on learning sewing skills and experimenting with any and all upcycling techniques.
Buttons, Ruffles, Topstitching, and Hemming. This podcast will be a celebration of the minutia where no topic is too small to devote an entire episode to. I want you to be able to listen and learn and grow, which is what sewing is all about to me.
So, with these details in mind, what would you like to know? Please leave a comment or respond to this email with topics that you would like me to take a deep dive on?
Also, if you enjoy my emails and would like to share them with a friend, please do so! As you may know, most of my reach on the internet comes from TikTok. With it being up in the air, investing time in growing this community is more important. Also, if you refer three friends, you can get access to my first sewing zine, which is no longer available! It is called Adventures in Making a Cute F*cking Shirt.
Some advice about making your favorite clothes bigger for when you grow!
Simple mends for thrifted items! Like where to look for spare buttons. Also, as a thrifter, some pro tips on how to safely remove tags without damaging clothes (I've seen too many lovely pieces that must have been attacked in a rage with safety scissors and left with gaping holes ðŸ˜). Small topics I know, but if nothing is too small these could be fun/useful.
