This is the most important sewing tip that I know. Beyond resources and hacks and skills and tools, there is something else, and that is learned-resilence towards failure and ultimately being okay with the next steps that follow that failure.
If you sew clothes or quilts or sculptures or weird masks you will soon learn patience along the way. You will learn skills, but you will also develop a thicker skin for making mistakes.
