I dream about thrift flips. I obsess over them. At my very core, I love making clothing unique and when you alter a garment you are doing just that. The transformation from mundane to special is addicting to say the least.
Sharing my Notes App because I am Brave
I thought it would be fun to share what I want to create in the near future and gather your ideas for what you think I should create.
Monochromatic series of thrift flips
I would love to pick a color (maybe red??) and do a series of thrift flips with that color. A jacket and a button up and a sweater. All different flips but monochromatic. I think it would be a fun challenge and it would be very visually appealing.
Jean jacket with ropes hanging
Almost like knit into the jacket! I think this could be very impractical and high fashion!
Sweater with tongues
Speaks for itself in my opinion lol. Little mouths all over with red tongues sticking out.
Button Up shirt with ruffles
I think it would be cool to use the fabric that I cut off at the bottom when I hem the shirt to create a ruffle at the shoulder seam.
Ruched button up
I think this would be sick! Basically you would scrunch up bits of the shirt in different areas to give a ruching effect.
Button up with dinosaur notches/horns
If you can’t see the vision here we can’t be friends. Period lol.
Long long long sleeve sweater
Again, the vision!!! Unnecessary and fun.
Blob sweater
A sweater with blobs all over it obviously!!
Thank you for looking inside my brain!
I would love for you to leave a comment and tell me if you have a thrift flip idea as well.
These all sound so fun and interesting. I cannot wait to see them come to fruition. I'm thinking mixing fabrics to create varied textures and a sensory experience. Silk with tweed. Denim with minky. Things of that nature. Oh, and fur!
I’m very glad to see that I’m not the only one who types things out like this also. I can always recall the image in my mind, but having to explain it to others it gets a tad weird. lol. These sound magical!
