longevity versus novelty and the case for clothing evolution
I started a podcast!
What if we celebrated the longevity of the clothes in our closets instead of the novelty?
Right now, we’re trapped in a cycle that worships the new, the fresh, the more.
And even as someone who sews, thrifts, and upcycles 99% of the time, I feel that pull. It’s not just fast fashion that drives it; it seeps into every corner of style. Why else do I find myself dyeing a new thrift-store shirt every weekend?
In this podcast episode, I want to ask: what would it mean to truly conserve the clothes we already own? And why does that simple act feel so at odds with the way the world teaches us to think?
