How to Design a Sewing Pattern

There is a t-shirt that I really love to make, so much so that I decided to turn it into a sewing pattern for you. I am working with a wonderful LA-based pattern maker called PaTTernHack to make it happen. The shirt itself is drop-shoulder and cropped and feels like you are wearing a cozy sweatshirt. It will be gender neutral and available in sizes XS-5X.

The pattern is available both as a digital preorder and a physical preorder right now. For the digital preorder, this means that you will be the first to get the digital print-at-home version once it is released, as well as the accompanying digital guidebook on patchwork and t-shirt hacking. You will even get a special discount code to order the physical version if you so desire. For the physical preorder, you will get a physical copy of both the guidebook and the pattern mailed to you once everything is finalized. The physical pattern will be printed on large format paper, so all you will have to do is cut out the pattern pieces. I am expecting the final versions of the pattern and guidebook to be released in early to mid-January.

The main reason that I am offering this is to both raise money for the production of the pattern as well as show you a behind the scenes look at the design process. I will periodically update you with behind the scenes information and show you the different versions of the design process. I am so excited to offer a peak behind the curtain of Garbie!
